ICAP Lands Asia Risk Magazine's Interdealer Broker of the Year Award

Old news as posted in ICAP website on 28/10/2010 :)

ICAP’s Scale in Asia “Unmatched by Rivals”
London, Hong Kong, Singapore, 28 October 2010 – ICAP, the world’s premier interdealer broker and provider of post trade risk and information services, today announced that it has landed Asia Risk Magazine’s Interdealer Broker of the Year award in Asia Risk Magazine’s annual Interdealer rankings. This is the fourth consecutive year that ICAP has won this award.

Hugh Gallagher, CEO, ICAP, Asia Pacific said:
“We are delighted to have landed this award which reaffirms the strength of ICAP’s franchise, footprint and capabilities in the Asian market. We would like to thank our customers for their support and we look forward to continuing to work with them to grow and strengthen our business in this strategically important market for us.”

Asia Risk Magazine said:
“ICAP’s scale in Asia appears unmatched by its rivals. It has 15 offices in 11 Asian countries, the broadest of any broker, including an onshore presence in smaller jurisdictions, such as the Philippines and Thailand. As a result, traders operating in the interdealer markets praise ICAP for providing access to the broadest range of underlyings and some of the deepest pools of liquidity in Asia, as well as for its consistent and excellent service. Indeed, the UK interdealer broker’s provision of liquidity in many Asian markets now appears to be self-supporting, with increasing activity attracting more clients that in turn results in more trading activity, although traders note that liquidity in many markets this year has been boosted by demand for emerging markets assets from outside the region.”

In the Asia Risk magazine write up, ICAP is recognised for adapting itself to and capitalising on regulatory changes. In addition, it says TriOptima’s selection by the International Swaps and Derivatives Association rates steering committee as the swap trade repository of choice for G-14 currencies, has placed ICAP as a unique conduit to any such requirements in Asia.
